Goatman, I pulled everything apart, took a piece of finished plywood & 600 wet or dry and burnished both sides of new banjo & both sides of new copper washers. & glued a piece of 600 wet or dry to a smooth paint stir stick And cleaned up the fuel filter. We talking smooth now these surfaces were not perfect B-4 but now are perfect as 600 sand paper will get, I use this as first color sanding when repainting a car and this rubs out quite nicely, but better if you keep working up to 1500 & 2000 but I can't believe this is necessary. So You stated snug is sufficient I'll use A 3/8TH RACHET WHICH WILL PRECLUDE OVER TIGHTENING. THX, bILL
I'LL PUT BACK TOGETHER SOON & REPORT RESULTS. I see by burnishing the contact surfaces you can notice very small imperfections in these surfaces that I otherwise overlooked assuming new = perfect. silly boy
