I'm still pulling part off the ES (and now have been offered another wrecked one...)

I'm drawing a blanks as to how to pull the rear view mirror (mounted to the headliner out of that car. I see two slots on the front of the base (near the windshield) but poking a screw driver in there didn't seem to release anything. Don't want to wreck this....

Help.....
