repaint an original panel or not? 200 1993

I own a '93 240 wagon I bought from original owner that took very good care of car until Volvo dealer moved to another island. This car has never been hit no dents no dings no repainted panels. I buffed out , it came out very good as good as a 18 year old paint job could come out. Auto paint products have improved dramatically
in 18 years. Hood has primer spots showing through dark blue genuine finish.
I call it desired patina. Wife wants me to repaint only hood leave the rest alone.
It'll be obvious I'm afraid. In Your opinion will I be making a mistake by repainting hood. To me this is the only way some one in the future can confirm wow never been hit, what's up with the hood dude? I'm going for the 300K miles mark
Insurance is cheap, I'm beginning to figure it out life is grand. thx, fat cat
