I just failed emissions testing for the first time EVER. My HC read 320 (max is 220) my CO was 0.31 (max 1.2) and CO2 was 14.2 (no max listed) Last year the readings were 67, 0.01 and 8.2. I've had a 77 pass with very low numbers with NO cat. and this car passed before with four cracked spark coils, since replaced.
It has 186k, fresh Mobil1, just ran a 500 mile road trip w/Techron in NON-Alcohol fuel. Runs great, idles smooth. No codes, in fact they sniffed the exhaust (@2500rpm), saying my OBCD didn't give enough info.
I'm stumped. (and pissed - just sat in line for nearly two freakin hours to get tested.)
I have an appt w/wrench tomorrow but if I can figure it out I'll save a lot of $$. Unfortunately, my Volvo guru just passed away.
Any ideas?
