My quest to find a comfortable quality shock has become somewhat of a disaster.
First I deceided to bite the bullet and get a set of Koni Reds. Well it seems that Koni has discontinued the reds for the Volvo 240 and the yellow are on the way out to. After that I figured I'd get a set of Sachs Advantages from FCP. By mistake they sent me Bilstein tourings for the fronts and KYB gas adjust rears. Those went back. After talking to FCP it appears that Sachs Advantages for the front are marked Super Touring which is a different strut. The rears they had were made in 2 different countries. Turkey and France. After I deceide to order the genuine's from Tasca. I called and a the sales person said that the fronts were made in Spain but had no manufacuter name. I deceided to give them a try and ordered them. While there was a manufacturer stamped on the strut that the sales guy couldn't see and it was Monroe. The rears had no name on them but were made in Belgium. The problem I have with the rears is that the compressive force required to push them in was less than 10 year old Boge's. Neither fronts or rears seem to be gas charged. Now I'm thinking of sending the set back but not sure what to do.
