1993 240 Classic Wagon - a sad parting? 200 1993

Okay, so I may be coming up on a sad parting. I'm posting to get opinions/suggestions. I own a wonderful (it's carted my ass around for 10 years and there's a lot of sentimental value) 1993, 240 Classic (#56) with just 213K. I've tried to keep it up as best I can, but unfortunately, being a student the last few years has meant the ol' tank isn't as sharp as it used to be. Recently, I found out the rear main seal is leaking, and there's another oil leak too. Ball joints need to be done also. Estimate for these lovely repairs runs about $1200! I'm torn, because the cost of repairs now exceeds the blue book value and being a student on a very limited budget makes me feel that I have to be really smart with my investments. Ultimately, I hate to part with this car and wish I could give it all the TLC it needed to get it top notch again! Looking at all the gorgeous 200's in the brickboard gallery makes me feel that I should keep it...I hate to see this last of the 240 run be given up on so early :(( And it definitely isn't ready for the grave. Thanks for your replies.

Sara
