hi sages- this is a great forum . im still a newbie who reads parts of this forum every day. the car is a 92 volvo 240 wagon. i have now heard many times that this model is one of the safest cars built. saw a picture in this forum of the two volvo founders who prioritized the safety of their customers in design and production of these cars. could some one on this forum, maybe one with an engineering background or heavy duty repair experience tell me specific examples of safety items on volvo 240s which are above and beyond what can be found on vintage or contemporary production cars. air bags seat belts and abs are swell but most cars have had them for years. think seat belts started in 64. thanks tons oldduke
