Help needed: how to remove mirror from housing? 900 1997

The mirror on the driver side fell off today. Fortunately, I have a spare from my 93 that will fit, but I only want to replace the glass, not the housing for a couple of reasons.

Is there a way to detach the glass from the backing w/o breaking the glass?
