front signal light lens - removal??!! 200

'88, 244 DL

I have had some operating light failure and intermittent signal failure on my drivers side front assembly.

I went out to do the basics of checking the bulbs and contacts ... the blasted lens does not come off after removal of the three, through the lens, screws.

This should not be happening should it?

Am I the proud owner of some aftermarket glue job?
