I'm starting a B23Ft rebuild. The plan is to put the engine in my 242. I just started so it'll be a while, but I thought I'd post pictures of the progress and the problems I encounter. First problem is getting the crank sprocket off without damaging anything. It's really stuck on the crank. Whenever I've done front seals before, the sprocket has come right off. Any ideas would be appreciated as to how to get it off without wrecking the seal carrier and big washer behind the sprocket.
Here are a few pictures of the project so far. I need to learn all I can that might help me end up with a long-lasting engine. I'm starting with a stock B23FT out of a 1984 760. It has 211k miles on it. The only modifications I have planned are a 90+ exhaust manifold, a more open exhaust system, and a manual boost controller, and LH 2.2. I want to end up with around 200 hp. Also, I plan to use a T5 transmission.
Any thought/ideas would be really appreciated.
