engine won't start 200 1983

Hi,
new here. I have an '83 242 wagon. I was driving home in the rain last night, hit a big pothole and suddenly had no power to the engine. Battery works, just no juice to the engine and it wont' start. Is there a fuel shut off switch? The tow truck guy suggested maybe the distributor got wet, but it wouldn't start again this morning.
any ideas?
