This breather box wasn't breathing! - photo 200

This is a cross-section of the breather box I took off my 81 242 when I first bought it because the box would not pass the blow test. That's one of the old-style flame traps clogging up the system. Oddly enough, it seemed like the engine was running fine at the time. The car had been fitted with one of the new-style flame traps, but apparently nobody checked to see if the box was clogged.
