strange startup? 700 1990

I have been having an odd startup problem recently in that on a cold morning she will startup immediately whereas, after driving for a while and turning the ignition off then restarting she will need a slight depressing of the gas pedal to start. If I don't give her gas she will crank for several times before starting. The battery is new as well as the starter. Any suggestions?
