Good day,
Today, I went to pick some stuff up at work. The car was parked for an hour. When I went to leave it wouldn't start. It cranked, but I couldn't hear the main pump both on KPII right before start or when jumping fuse 4 and 6. I noticed the fuel pump relay didn't work and replaced it for a working one, but still no main pump. I read in the FAQ that when the pump goes out you should also replace the relay due to:
"High current loads from a failing main pump will cause extreme arcing across the point contacts on shut down and damage the diode protection circuit."
When I popped the cover off the relay, I noticed black spots on some contact areas, not much but some.
To me the main fuel pump seems like the culprit and I have one on my spare car. Is there anything else besides the wiring that I should check before I start pulling stuff apart?
Thanks!
