Ok, I will be the first to admit, I'm cheap, but at the same time, broke, so it works well. My 240 that I just bought has studded tires on the rear and worn out, bottom of the barrel cheap-o tires up front. I need tires. Honestly, i was looking in the $100-$150 range for all 4 used tires. I found a really GOOD set of Firestone Winterforce tires for $125. Winter is pretty much over, so I would be riding snow tires going into the non-snow seasons. I know these cars are a tad on the heavy side, and winter tires typically have a softer compound which that combination should equal rapid tire wear. Can I make it to atleast next winter on these? 2 are new and 2 have 80% remaining. Other than the obvious (poor tread life) are there and other cons to doing this? I have heard that winter tires are good wet weather tires (spring = melting snow + rain here). I do prefer to have all 4 tires the same, which is why I am having trouble finding a decent set of used tires cheap. Am I wasting my money (keep looking for non-winter tires?) or should I just go with what I can find?
