240 stalled, no re-start 200 1983

this morning my 240 stalled in the driveway heading to work. it sort of bucked a couple times then just stalled right out. it won't re-start. it is just cranking. i checked the plugs and they are dry. when i give the car gas while i'm cranking, it cranks just a little bit harder. i am admittedly down in fuel, but the gauge is still showing that i have some, and i haven't had trouble at this level before. any ideas? or should i just put some gas in the tank...
