Dumb strut question. 200 1986

This has become a debacle in typical old car fashion.
Replacing the struts(and shocks, and brakes) on this 86 as a final touch
since it's proved it isn't going to blow up or quit shifting. The drivers side strut mount was as stuck as anything I've ever seen to the strut shaft. I removed the gland nut to pull the thing out finally and took it to work and had one of my guys get it apart, told him I wanted the spring plate. Didn't occur to me there might be a spacer washer in there below the spring plate (or him I guess).

That is the question, was there in fact a spacer washer under the spring plate?

It's going to need one either there or under the strut nut on top, this is with current Sachs Advantage PN 100597 and KYB boot kits. The boot kit seems alright, I don't like that the accordion is so much larger than the strut body I can't secure it snug with a zip tie like I always have before though.
