Power steering fluid 700

I'm getting ready to replace my steering rack with a used one from the boneyard. About a year ago my power steering fluid started to leak. Turns out it was pinhole(s) from corrosion of the steel lines on the rack. I kept delaying a proper fix using Lucas PS leak sealer to slow down the leaking until a line apparently blew a couple of months ago. Being the middle of winter, I didn't relish fixing it myself in the driveway, so took the car to the local import shop that fixed Volvos. Due to the high price of rebuilt racks for Volvos and the age of the car, the mechanic suggested replacing the rack with a used one. However, he strung me along for weeks trying to locate a rack, so I gave up on him. Now the snow has gone, I picked up a decent rack for $100 (half what the mechanic said it would cost) and will be doing it myself. (Hopefully the PS pump isn't completely shot from occasional driving with a splash of fluid every now and again. Takes me back to my youth, driving without power steering.) Anyway, I'm reading in the FAQ "Refill the system using Dexron III or (preferably) Mobil 1 ATF" but my owner's manual says to use Type F, which I have been using and costs a buck more per bottle. Of course, the cost is irrelevant now that it won't be leaking, but is there really a case to be made for using Type F instead of Dexron, which is more widely available?
