Long story short. Car wouldn't start (no spark). I stuck a crusty old coil I had lying around and it runs now. The crusty coil came from a 740 and does not fit into the 240 bracket. It's wider and taller and I had to use a different style coil wire. But I rigged it for now. Question. Should I just buy a new OEM one or could I use an aftermarket one like Summit's street coil or Speedway's MSD Blaster street coil. ***Bonus - I have a gift card to use there if it will work. They are from 40,000 to 45,000 Volt with either a 3.0 ohm or 0.80 ohm. resistance also with an extra ballast resistor. I have no idea what the stock voltage and ohms are. Is it worth trying? Should I just buy a Bosch OEM one or just leave the crusty one in and leave it alone?
