Called IPD few days ago- I needed to get a tailgate wire harness thing-no problem. After market about $15--Volvo OEM about $69-(guess which one I got) So I ask IPD what’s difference and how had it been for your customers that bought them? Now I know anyone can say anything-but the guy says first if you look at them both you cant tell the difference-AND he said at time the aftermarket just puts their label on the unmarked Volvo ones and sells them for the $15---seems weird-. Anyway it came-looks fine-all fixed. Next is I mentioned that RPR Volvo parts is going out of business by end of this month-Rusty sold the place-the property actually and he has to get his store emptied by end of the month-giving great closing down discounted prices. -I ask IPD -now the market is open here for a good discount place -good prices and good service is a real seller. -Rusty is/was located in Albany but he got business from all over the bay area and other parts of the USA, and even some international-so the guy at IPD says he definitely will mention that to his bosses-so who knows? Would be nice to get an IPD store down in the bay area so one can walk in instead of mail order-at least for the people who live in the area. I told the guy if it would help I might be willing to drive up to their place and get on my knees and beg--uh-huh-yeah-uhmm- anyway its just with RPR leaving-where’s bay areas people gonna find a walk in place for discount parts-catalogues are nice-but at times one really needs to be able to just walk in and get what he /she wants. I wonder, if they do open up a branch down here if they could use some part time help? Hmmmm--.
