Battery Drain 200 1988

1988 245 DL / AW-70

The battery had a recent history of draining occasionally over night.

I isolated the problem to glove box light staying when glove box door is shut closed, due to a loose fitting glove box door / semi-broken hinges. Removed fuse #8 to confirm; the glove box light now is disabled / off with no battery drain overnight.

But now a strange new symptom: With #8 fuse removed, the door alarm chime activates when glove box is opened (when #8 fuse is installed, the chime does not activate).

Some sort of electrical backflow I suppose, but it all seems related to glove box light / switch.

Any ideas?

Thanks
