hello! i'm back again with a stumper for me and I've been working on these for quite a while!
I have an '85 sedan manual tranny that won't start. Here's what I've discovered thus far.
Cranks over fine, I have spark. fuel relay clicks (one side) when the ignition is turned on. When cranking, the other side does nothing. I've replaced the relay with another known working relay and I get the same thing.
while cranking I can tap on the side of the relay that isn't engaging and the car will fire and try to start, but as soon as I let off of the relay it immediately dies. When I do this I can also hear the main pump running.
I've checked all my fuses including the main fuel system fuse under the hood and all are good and clean.
I wiggled wires everywhere and sprayed electrical contact cleaner on everything and it decided to start and run . . . for about 2 minutes, then it died and refuses to start again. I tried spraying and wiggling wires again with no luck.
thoughts?!
thanks for any input!
