1991 sedan truly immaculate, under 10K miles, base model, B230F automatic, Rex/Regina ignition - not bosch.
Always well kept, never ever any drivability problems. We have had the car for about 15 yrs.
Yesterday got occasional low idle when hot, seems like it does not want to pull unless the motor is running over 4000 RPM. It hesitates, and when we stop at a stop, it shakes and stalls. Very HARD to start it up afterwards. We have to floor it for a few seconds while cranking and then pump gthe throttle to get the RPMS up and then if we are lucky, it holds. As soon as you put it to drive, it stalls.
The only way to take off from a stop is to rev it past 4K RPM, and drop it into Drive - but its no drag car.
Looks like something eletronic to me. I once had a 240 with a dead MAF, and the symptom was similar - but this car has no MAF (Regina system).
Again, all of this was very sudden - it always ran well. I doubt its anything obvious like ignition wires or something, becasue I always do tune ups and use the right parts.
Any help? Thanks in advance,
