Flexplate/Flywheel Position to please crank position sensor 700 1990

Hi, I just recently put a 1989 B230Ft into my 1990 740 Turbo with the same motor. Although they are the same base motor, the Crank Position Sensor on the '89 was on the distributor and the CPS is on the flexplate/flywheel on the '90. (It's an automatic but I'm writing both terms because saying flexplate seemed to cause some confusion on some unsuccessful garage phone calls.) I swapped the flexplates so that the correct one with all the little holes is installed but without thinking, didn't mark it and took a guess at what looked right and the engine timing is off. Does anyone know what the correct position of the flexplate is so that the sensor is happy? There is a little arrow pointing outwards on the back of the flexplate, the side facing the motor, if that helps. Thanks so much in advance for your replies.
