I parked my '93 945 yesterday, and this morning when I was I tried to start it,
it turns over but won't start..not even kick.
..turn on the key, I can hear the fuel pump
..turn it over, just turns
..check spark from coil lead to distributor,..none
..pulled plugs, faint smell of gas
.. checked to see if cam is turning..yes.
.checked the cam timing, spot on
.. checked fault codes.. none .
.. threw a booster cable from the neg. terminal to the block, ..no change
At this point I changed rotor, cap and new plugs ( they needed it)
After doing some research, I came across the Question..
...."When you crank the engine does the pump run during the cranking? If you say yes, as you can deduce that the hall switch is working."
Actually, I can't say that I hear the pump working while I crank, so how do I check the Hall switch. I have a Regina system, so I don't know if I even have a hall switch.
This car is new to me, and I know little to nothing about the ignition system.
Where should I be looking?
