I just changed the spark plugs and wires on my 1993 940 Turbo, and everything seemed well at first. The idle is smoother (old plugs were worn, but nothing indicating problems) and ignition seems nice and responsive. I got 5 miles down the road and started smelling something that seemed almost like a plastic melting smell. Pulled over, looked under the hood and nothing was putting off any visible signs. However the spark plug cables were very HOT.
Is this normal? Or is something wrong? I gapped the plugs at .030 (book says 0.28 - 0.32, so I went right for the middle).
