Installing new tie rod ends 200 1991

I've been reading the various messages relating to tie rod end (and other front suspension parts) replacement. I had no difficulties removing my tie rod ends, but I can't seem to get the male end of the new tie rods to align with the hole on the wheel assembly.

Am I missing something obvious?
