I found this during my SEARCH http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/volvo/1415644/220/240/260/280/glove_box_door_exterior_trim_loose.html
Not sure if we are talking about the same thing.
The door on the glovebox appears to be like a Clamshell design. The inner shell with the Mirror and the outer. Although my box juts decided to separate so the top of the door hangs away from the dashboard about 1/4". When I try to pull it apart further it seems like it has a real positive stop to it. As if screws loosened up but did not come all the way out. I pulled the small chrome/black trim off in hopes of seeing Screws.. nothing.
What holds these two halves together? I thought maybe glue but it is loose and wont fully separate. As I type this I'm thinking: Lemme go back and take out the lock cylinder.. maybe that's holding it.
