wiper switch connections 1800

Hi,

I am slowly working through issues on my 1970 P1800. The P.O. had a frustrating habit of rewiring things...one of them is the wiper switch. For some reason they decided to add what appears to be a relay in the wiring for the wiper switch. The wipers nor the washer pump do not work - maybe this was an attempt to fix it...but it is a useless, elaborate mess.

It looks like all the original wiring is there (it is just hooked up with new connectors and wires that lead in and out of the relay all over the place - like some mad scientist run amok).

I am trying to figure out how the switch was originally wired (so I can put it back to its original state). There are five connector tabs on the wiper switch and what looks to be five wires that should hook into it.

Three are in a green wire bundle that leads to the wiper motor (three wires: green, black, red). There are two other wires in that area - one that leads to the wiper fuse (black) and another (yellow) than leads to the washer pump(?).

The switch is not the twist type, but rather has three pull out positions - in, mid way, and all the way out.

Question: can anybody tell me which color wire goes to which tab on the switch? I've looked at the wiring diagram, but being electrically challenged, I just can't figure it out. Maybe the switch is bad too....

thanks all.
