Car quit running 700

Can you help me? I don't know much about cars and I think I really messed up my Bertone 780. It has been running fine and the other day it just stopped in the middle of the road. It's not the battery, it has gas and it wasn't over heated. My cousin said it might be the fuel pump but it seems to be working properly according to him. So, it's not the starter, the battery, the fuel pump and it's got power but no "get up and go". I don't want to get ripped off at the mechanics because of my lack of knowledge
Since,I am trying to sell this car this a major sticking point right now. Any one have any advice? Thanks in advance for any help.
