Awhile ago in the early days of this Forum, the discussion centered around an easy way to replace the 240s rear tailshaft bushing without having to remove the trans. One of the members, I believe, fashioned a very ingenious tool that would pull out the old, dead bushing AND install the new one....and one only needed to disconnect the driveshaft and wire it out of the way. This tool (and I believe that there were 5 of them floating around) was loaned our regularly to the members, who would pay a small 'good faith' deposit, perform the repair, and then return the tool for their money back. I used it while on loan, and it worked superbly. My mechanic was really impressed! Well, you can guess what happened......after awhile, the tools never came back. My question is: Does anyone know if this thing is still available somewhere? Or maybe someone has the original drawings to allow another run of these tools to be made? I have a feeling that it's going to come in handy again, soon!
