B20 Intake Manifold Vacuum Leaks 140-160

Everyone,

I am trying to fix some intake manifold vacuum leaks I am having on my B20 w/ dual SUs. I am planning on switching from a cast iron manifold to an aluminum manifold anyway and so I am planning on changing out the intake manifold gasket. Related to this, I have two questions:

1.) IPD is selling two different intake manifold gaskets...one for FI heads and one for carb heads. I was of course leaning towards the carb head gaskets (I am using a carb head) but I was wondering what the difference was? My understanding was that the intake/exhaust manifolds were interchangeable between these two head types.

2.) Any tips on getting a good seal with this gasket? My current intake gasket is relatively new so I must have had problems with my installation. I was hesitant to use any type of silicon gasket sealer here because I didn't want to suck some pieces of dried sealer into the intake.

Thanks as always?
Brian
