I've got a B20F head. I'm looking to bump the compression a bit and wondering if anyone has any experience with how combustion chamber volume correlates to total head thickness (valve cover gasket surface to head gasket surface) for these heads.
The head was "uncut" when I got it. It has now had the head gasket surface trued up and is at ~86.67 mm thick (3.41X"). This seems to agree with what is listed on the v-performance site as stock for an F head (3.42"). The chambers measure out in the 56.6-56.9 CC range.
Given my bore, deck clearance, and head gasket combination, my math says spits out the static compression ratio's below:
52 CC chammbers--> 9.56:1
51 CC chammbers--> 9.71:1
50 CC chammbers--> 9.86:1
Without going through a couple iterations of machining ($) and measuring, is there anything to suggest what head thickness I should be after if I wanted to land in the 51 CC range?
