air flow

The blower motor of my 740GL 1990 seems to work at all levels 1-4 but the airflow is very very weak. I will try to look for vacuum leaks..there is tons of info on the forum!
What I noticed though is that quite a bit of air blows into the engine bay around the evaporator pipe openings. I believe the B230 engine is fluid and not air cooled like previous cars we have had. Has anyone seen that problem?
