replaced ac compressor[new]...what else should I replace? 200

the compressor failed so I put a new one on ;just physically on the venicle ;no lines hooked up ...now this is my first attempt at fixing air conditioning so be kind and I am not even sure of the names of all the parts. I read that the system needs to be "flushed" can that be done by me and if so how?...[there is no freon R134 in the system as it all leaked out] can that be done by me and if so how? I know this is weird but this is my 95 GMC Jimmy not one of my Volvos , but you guys are the only ones who actually work on your cars and I am guessing AC systems are mostly the same on different makes of cars.
