1989 speedometer 200 1989

I have a 1989 240dl sedan with a speedometer problem. The needle "floats" as I drive. Just started all of the sudden. The faster I go the farther up the scale it "floats". It is a K10042 speedometer. The gas and temperature gages work fine. I read the small blue wire to the small black wire at the round connector which should be the sensor (?) and I believe I got 6.8 - 7.0 ohms. (A memory would be nice.) Is this "fixable"? If not where should I look for a replacement? No junkyards with any around here.
