Street Performance Motor - Completed 444-544

Our engine project is now virtually complete. We are looking at a stock stroke B20B with a VPD Type II head CR10:1, SP cam with VPD pushrods and lifters, aluminum & steel timing gear set, ARP stud kit, Ceramic coated 4-2-1 header and aluminum intake manifold. This motor has not been on a dyno, so the A/F ratio has not been optimized, but we are happy to report that the motor runs hard and is everything we hoped it would be.

We still have some minor tidying up to do, including the nasty looking manifold stud, but we are almost there.

This brings to an end a four year saga with JP & VPD; I'm still owed a ceramic coated inlet manifold which was paid for in November 2007, but I have given up on this after countless international calls to an answering machine and hundreds of e-mails.

My sincere thanks go out to the members here for the inspiration and help through the years in particular:

Volvo From Heck for sending me an aluminum inlet manifold which I desperately needed to complete the project (as well as the wheel trim rings a few years ago)Thanks Dave!!

Old Kombi (Dave Gard, RIP) for the gorgeous foam filters and pleasant discussions.

Barongrey & Hotstuff (Steve Stanfield, RIP) for the inspiration and photo's of his polished inlet manifold.

122_Canadian for his widened steel rims thread, which was a huge inspiration, also for helping me keep the faith when I was dealing with JP.
