Anti theft system comes on. V 90 1998 S90-V90

Our V 90 that has been running well for the last 3 months (bought with 145K) is suddenly acting up.
We don't possess the remote key. When the driver side door is opened the alarm go's off and can only be stopped by walking over to the passengers side and turning the lock with the key.
Tried resetting the computer by disconnecting battery for 45 minutes with poles taped together without result.
Any suggestions?

Also, can we buy a compatible remote key from ebay and have the dealer program it? How much will a dealer key be approximately?

Can the anti theft unit just be disengaged somewhere? Pulling relay?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
