My Volvo 740 n/a decided it didn't want to stay running this morning...
It has been taking 2 full off-on-start cranks to get it started for a while now, but the last couple days it's taken 3-4 full cranks to get it to fire and the first 2 didn't seem too productive. Today it fired on the 3rd crank and when I put it in gear it died. Then I got to the stop sign by my house and it died. When I cranked it it would pop off for about 2 or 3 seconds and then die immediately.
I got it pushed back into my driveway and pulled the muffler, which was clogged with catalytic converter pieces and fired it up again and it still would only run for less than 2 seconds. Then I pulled the cat off to see if it was plugged, but it still didn't run for more than 2 seconds.
I unplugged the O2, IAC, TPS, and ECTS individually and noticed with the IAC or the TPS unplugged it will run about 5-10 seconds at a really low idle and then die. Also, trying to give it throttle will kill it faster than usual.
The plugs, wires, cap and rotor have been replaced within the last 6k miles, as well as having just replaced the crank position sensor.
There are no codes in either module.
Fuel pump is coming on when the key is cycled and the relay clicks like normal.
Ignition coil contacts/terminals just cleaned and filled with dielectric grease.
What is up with this thing???
