87 240 205000 mi, runs well, gets 30 mpg, uses no oil.

one day last week, oil light flickered while on the road, about 5 minutes into my commute. ( I stopped and checked the oil , of course, plenty of oil ). Light kept flickering, kind of randomly, for another 5 minutes of driving, then stayed out for the rest of the 1 hr drive. It doesn't flicker at idle, just when driving, and may be related to going downhill - hard to say.

Same thing today - no light when cold, random flickering for about 5 minutes of driving, then no light for the rest of the trip.

I read the posts about bad lights from old wiring, and also oil pump tube o-ring failures. What does this sound like to you more experienced guys ? The fact that it doesn't flicker at idle has me puzzled.

Any help is appreciated.
