I have what appears to be a leaking rear main oil seal on a 240 w/ 250K+ miles. 3 questions:
1) Approx time, if everything goes well? I have a lift.
2) I see comments here about smoothing out the groove: fine sandpaper?
3) Europarts sells 2: a stock unit and one a few mm thicker to compensate for wear on cars w/ high miles. Recommendations?
There are several good threads in the archives and it appears straightforward once you unbolt and slide back the transmission.
