I heard a semi loud clunk sound under the passenger seat when I was turning the towards the right (I was backing up).
And occasionally it sounds like the same sound I would hear before I replaced the wheel bearings (on both sides).
I replaced the ball joints a few years ago and added new shocks and I'm fairly certain I did the tie-rods too (I don't exactly remember because I did pretty much the same thing to my truck and any work I've done on the two vehicles has conjoined in my mind).
I'm going to change the oil coming up soon, and will have the car up on jacks. I'm going to take off the front tires when I do this so I can check out the parts. I'm hypothesizing that its the control arms, does that sound like a possible answer?
RE: Clutch cable.
I replaced it a while ago, but occasionally it loosens, and I have to re-tighten it. I just tightened it last week, and it again seems a little lose. Where it goes through the fire-wall is fine.
Could it be that I still haven't tightened it enough and it's too loose to begin with and that gives it enough slack to work itself loose?
