I have a 1983 244 Turbo with 265,000 miles on a rebuilt engine, rebuilt turbo and all new parts, some listed below).
Hopefully someone can help me. My idle goes down dramatically with the AC turned on, to the point where the engine will die. Idle is basically stable (now) with AC off. Is there some electronic control or idle adjust that happens automatically when the AC is turned on? If not, what can I do?
The engine was rebuilt with new parts, including new oil pump, however, I have had emmission and idle issues, and I changed/replaced the following. My car passed emmission check and the idle is now working correctly. Except for when I turn on the AC.
It may not be related, but at Idle the oil pressure is suprisingly low (in the red on the gauge). I haven't figured this one out yet.
Any help would be appreciated.
