I have 1993 Volvo 940. I have maintained regularly with oil changes and the only problems I've had out of it in the last year and a half
has been hose ruptures. About two weeks ago I had an oil change and a transmission flush done. It shifted gears smoothly and ran
very well for about a week and a half. In the last couple of days, I've noticed something is wrong. When I try to accelerate it feels like
it stutters or stalls slightly, and this morning when I cranked it up to check fluids it gave out on me. I started it back up and it seemed like it was gonna give out on me again, but it stayed on so I quickly went to the nearest gas station fearing it would give out again. I put 20 dollars in the tank and went about my day. On my way home I noticed it is exerting more energy than usual to accelerate. When I punch the gas it stalls a little and I can feel it jerking as it tries to pick up speed. When I ease up on gas it shifts gears and tries to accelerate more. I really don't know what it is. I had a tune up done today and a mechanic told me he doesn't think it is a problem with the fuel system. I think the problem lies in the transmission drain and fill I had done two weeks ago. The car hasn't been the same since then. if there is a problem with the transmission due to the drain-and-fill, is there any thing I can do to salvage the situation or at this point do I need the tranny rebuilt or another tranny all together?
