Yes Ryan, I know that's the theory. I discussed it in a separate thread here 6-8 months ago. I posted pictures of the blocks I have without any provision for a CPS: no holes, no raised mount, nothing.
I'm not going to take pictures again to re-prove my point: I have 5 B230s 1985-88 in my barn right now. I just walked up to look at them.
The 1988 has the holes and boss; none of the others - not the 87, not the 86, not the 85s - have the holes or mount.
I'm not saying you're wrong. But I've never seen a CPS mount on, oh, 40-50 pre-1988 engines.
I'll post this separately also in case others want to comment.

Actually, no.
All B230's are drilled and tapped for the CPS holder-upper bracket. In other words, there's no such thing as a B230 that isn't set-up for the CPS. Reason is that other markets got Bosch Motronic, which used the CPS long before LH 2.4 and Regina came along.
