After 3 months of hard internet and on the ground searching, I think I have finally located two good '93 240s in GA. One is a maroon Classic with 150k, the other is a medium blue with 122k. Both appear to be well cared for, recent tires and brakes, have good maintenance records and are not stupidly priced.
Now, my question. Neither has a sunroof, which I really wanted. Aside from having a shop install an aftermarket glass sunroof, has anyone ever successfully attempted to install a stock sunroof in a 240 - in other words, buying a metal roof and all the required gear from a junker and cutting a hole in the roof and putting the stock one in? Is this a completely stupid idea? Has anyone ever had a glass sunroof installed in a 240 - my mechanic thinks it is a complete travesty and a desecration of a classic car to do so.
Thanks! Wish me luck - I may go today to do some test driving.
