Rebuilding Front Brake calipers 700

I have a 1991 740 turbo sedan that has seized front calipers. If I buy rebuilt calipers I have to pay the core because they are not rebuildable so I got some to rebuild from the salvage yard. The rebuild kits are from FCP Groton. The problem is I can push the piston in but gets stuck. I have the tool to push the piston in so it should be square. What am I doing wrong or do I have to bite the bullet and by calipers. Thanks Matt
