'94 940: Now that my heater core is removed: how about that dual vacuum servo? 900

Before I install the new heater core, I'd like to solve the classic 940 problem with the dual vacuum servo (air flow drops from face vents to floor on acceleration or going uphill).

Everything I've read in FAQ and the archives suggests that I just plug the yellow vacuum line and live with the reduced functionality. Is there a real fix for this?
