Thanks to help from the board, and from other websites - after 6 months of sorting out wiring issues, learning the basics of D-jet on my 1970 p1800 and slowly working through its issues, I finally have a smooth idle and wonderfully responsive driving machine.

The car was running awful, would barely run after warming up, was missing, bogging down, getting terrible gas mileage, had a bird's nest of wiring issues left over from the P.O.....and I was ready to give up. In fact, I just gave it a break for a month and I even considered switching to SU carbs which is what I am most familiar with.

Anyways, I methodically worked through a whole bunch of issues.
1. Replaced the Manifold Pressure Sensor. I found a company that rebuilds them (Fuel Injection Corporation - California).
2. Replaced the fuel injectors. They were all very old (maybe still original?) - Looked at flushing them, and ultrasonic cleaning but in the end decided to buy rebuilt ones.
3. Sorted out the wiring. Sheesh.
4. Replaced the coolant sensor - important for D-Jet.
5. Replace the thermostat - wrong heat range.
6. Replaced points, condenser.
7. Adjusted fuel pressure - it was set waaay too high - probably because the injectors were pretty plugged and it was the only way to get a fuel spray.

Adjusting the fuel pressure is where most of the improvement occurred, but it was really a combination of factors that required sorting out.

Anyways, I'm glad I stuck with it - it has been an education.
