Motorola SEV regulator with Bosch alternator?

I have the Bosch AL77X alternator, but it is hooked up to a Motorola SEV voltage regulator. This is not kosher, correct? I assume I should get a Bosch regulator instead?

I've discovered a low-charging situation on my 142. While running, the charging system is barely putting out 12 volts according to what I'm reading across the battery terminals. I removed, cleaned and greased cables for the battery, chassis and engine grounds, voltage regulator, alternator cables, and distribution block. No improvement. Next I'll check the brushes in the alternator. The fan belt seems a bit loose but the alternator's pulley is maxed out; maybe it has a belt that's too large. I'll try to find a smaller belt. If any of those changes don't merit any results, I'll assume that either the regulator is bad or the alternator is.
